One of the most beautiful museums on the Riviera. A playful and cultural approach to discover our international Charlot!

A must-see, this excellent museum is well worth the trip. Set in the grandiose setting of Charlie Chaplin's private estate, a superb villa built in a beautiful park overlooking the lake. A fascinating space dedicated to a brilliant artist whose life and work were exceptional. The museum is designed for everyone, and is very didactic and well laid out. You can relive the making of his various films almost step by step. Charlie Chaplin was born on April 16, 1889, probably in London, and died on December 25, 1977 in Corsier-sur-Vevey. He was a composer, dancer, director, screenwriter and producer. He is credited with integrating pantomime into silent cinema. We learn a great deal about the life of this great traveler, a man of humanism and open-mindedness. It's an incredible journey back in time in the footsteps of Charlie Chaplin. First you visit the family manor, a superb 19th-century residence, and learn about Charlie Chaplin's life - which was not paved with roses in his early years - and the history of his films - right up to the last film he made with his children, excerpts of which can be seen in the living room. On the top floor, don't miss excerpts from his true masterpieces, including "The Dictator", an excellent scathing satire of Nazism, or the epic train journey and meeting between Mussolini and Hitler. A visionary who criticized the excesses of the society of his time, as in "Modern Times", a critique of the assembly-line work initiated by the Ford factories. The studios still preserve the cogs used in the film's shooting. Satires and parodies that still make us laugh today, we can read about the historical context in which these works were filmed - fascinating! The studios are explored, and to stimulate the imagination, mannequins are set up in the sets of the various mythical films - a real plunge into the history of cinema. You can reflect on the life and work of this illustrious figure as you stroll through the superb park, overlooking the lake and the Alps. A great moment of emotion and pleasure to share with the whole family. The 5-hectare site is divided into three parts:

Le Manoir de Ban, a neo-classical edifice built in 1840, where the Chaplin family lived. He acquired it after his banishment from the United States. Charlie Chaplin was one of the many victims of Senator McCarthy's "witch hunt".

The studio, dedicated to the work of Charlie Chaplin.

The park, part of the tour.
