HOTEL DE BRILLY
Hotel built in 1736 by Pierre de la Roque and bearing the name of his third son, which saw the birth of Robert de Flers and houses the town hall
Although less attractive than the Montpensier Hotel, the Brilly Hotel is nevertheless an interesting building in various respects. It was built in 1736 by a certain Pierre de la Roque, then a criminal and civil lieutenant at the Bailiwick and the Vicomté d’Auge. It owes its name to the latter’s third son, Félix Hippolyte de la Roque de Brilly. From 1790 to 1926, the hotel housed the sub-prefecture, which was the birthplace of Robert de Flers, a famous playwright, in 1872. Today, the building houses the town hall.
