Medium and high-end restaurant near La Sagesse school in Beirut.

The Al Diwan Sultan Ibrahim professor was founded in 1968 in Jnah. Success quickly arrived and several addresses now exist, including the one of Achrafieh, opened in 1999. Near La Wisdom School, the restaurant is on two floors: on the ground floor, good Lebanese cuisine is served at correct prices. The hot ball bread is a delight! On the first floor, it's pretty high quality and prices are surprised. We prefer the ground floor where the service is fast and perfectly run. Good value for money. An excellent address.

Restaurant DIWAN AL SULTAN certainly has quite a good reputation in Beyrouthins, but I personally was very disappointed: cold if not pretentious welcome; in an ordinary way modern setting; especially poor cuisine (we went to eat a Monday evening and we had the impression to eat the remains of the day before, right heated).
Then go to the MAYAS, a few hundred metres away (district Furn el hayek, rue Wahid Naim): pleasant setting and service, lebanese cuisine and Armenian tasty, without being expensive for both (diners eat well for LBP 30,000, that is to say £13, per person).
