SAHYOUN
Snack restaurant in Beirut serving falafels in a sandwich, with mint, tomatoes and condiments.
For some, Sahyoun, which has existed since the 1950s, sells the best falafels in Beirut. This small snack bar nestled in front of bullet-riddled buildings attracts customers from all over the city. The falafel is a small saucer-shaped fried and breaded bean purée. It is eaten in a sandwich with a choice of mint, tomatoes and condiments. Following a quarrel between the two sons of the founder Moustafa Sahyoun, a second shop opened its doors. If you prefer to try the original, it is the one on the right (in blue).
