LE BRISTOL * * * * *
High standing hotel in Beirut with a rooftop restaurant, a gym and a rooftop swimming pool.
Located in the southern part of Hamra, a few meters from Verdun Street, Le Bristol has long been a reference in the Lebanese hotel industry. Built in 1951, it was one of the most modern hotels in the capital and has hosted many local personalities such as the Shah of Iran and King Hussein of Jordan. After two years of titanic work, the hotel reopened its doors in 2015 and now offers rooms of the highest standard. Guests have a choice between two quite different atmospheres: "classic" rooms, with a simple and elegant decoration, which can be found in most establishments targeting a business clientele. The "hipster" rooms are more original, with surprising furniture and beautiful urban photographs on the walls. Bristol has two restaurants (the one in rooftop was under construction when we visited in June 2016), a gym and a pretty swimming pool on the roof that offers a magnificent view of the neighbourhood. An establishment that is highly recommended!
