HÔTEL LE PHOENICIA
Hotel-restaurant in Beirut with private businessmen's club, swimming pools, spa, shopping mall and whisky cellar.
Opened in December 1961 by Najib Salha, Le Phoenicia has become, through its history, the emblematic hotel of Beirut: crowned heads and stars from all over the world flocked to it throughout Beirut's golden age. Then, the Phoenicia became a strategic point occupied by various militias during the "hotel battle" in 1975. Re-opened in March 2000, it consists of three buildings, this luxurious establishment, completely renovated in 2010, offers no less than 464 high quality rooms and residential suites. Beirut's largest palace offers high quality services: a private club for businessmen, an outdoor and indoor swimming pool, a spa renowned for the quality of its thalassotherapy treatments, and its authentic Ayurvedic treatments, a shopping mall... The Phoenicia has five restaurants, some of which are well known in Beirut: l'Eau de Vie, a fabulous restaurant perched at the top of the hotel with its wine cellar and whiskies, unique in the Middle East; the sophisticated and simple Amethyst Lounge, offering an oriental chill-out atmosphere, a variety of original cocktails, and chichas with varied flavours; the Cascade Lounge, a privileged meeting place for businessmen and Beirut in a contemporary and modern setting. Located a few dozen meters from the many restaurants of Zaitunay Bay, Hotel Phoenicia is an excellent place to discover the Lebanese capital.
