THE BELL TOWER OF ST. GORGES DES MARONITES
Church – Cathedral – Basilica – Chapel

After ten years of work, the new bell tower of St. George's Cathedral was inaugurated in November 2016. Topped by a cross that lights up at night, it stands 72 metres high, as do the four minarets of the neighbouring Mohammad el-Amine Mosque. So, no jealousy! A platform located 20 meters high, and sometimes accessible to visitors (when the guard is present), offers a panoramic view of downtown Beirut.
