DOMAINE SKIABLE DE FARAYA-MZAAR
Faraya-Mzaar is the best equipped ski resorts in Lebanon. Opened in 1957, the station today brings together 18 ski lifts which give access to tracks of various levels. The area, which stretches over 80 km and reaches 2 465 m above sea level, is pleasant and without great difficulty for good skiers. It is possible to rent skis and surfs in many establishments along the road leading to Faraya. Once you arrive at the parking lot, you can buy your package for the day or half day. Trails are usually open from 8 a. m. to 15 p. m. (week-end) or 16 p. m. (week-end).
Crested, Faraya is the small Courchevel of Lebanon. Rendez-vous from the local bourgeoisie, Faraya and neighbouring villages such as Faqra and Kfardebian are stormed as soon as the snow arrives and the station is quickly packed on weekends. It is necessary to get up early to avoid traffic jams between Beirut and the station.
