THE TEMPLES OF AKRUM
About 30 km from Qoubayat, for Roman sites unconditional are the temples of Akroum at the northern end of the chain of Lebanon. All of these remains deserve displacement. To do this, we must climb a steep slope on the hill (Jabal al-Hussein) which dominates the village. Don't hesitate to ask for his way.
Two temples are almost equipped. One of them is still well preserved. The cella is separated from the baja by a large arc. On the ground, there are numerous fragments of cornices, corinthians and mouldings. The site was searched for a long time clandestinely. A large Byzantine church dedicated to Mar Chamchoum al-Jabbar is also located in the village.
