ASCENT OF THE QORNET ES-SAOUDA
In summer, it is possible to climb Qornet es-Saouda (3,083 m), the highest point in Lebanon. The ascent can be done on foot or by bike for the most sporty, or by 4x4 for the less courageous. It takes a good day's walk to get there and back: the climb can be tough for children and people in poor physical condition. It is preferable to take a guide or to be perfectly informed before the ascent in order to take the right path (a path to the top is clearly visible) which crosses rounded landscapes without vegetation. From the top of the peaks and on a clear day, the panorama is splendid. We have a remarkable view of the Kadisha Valley. You can see the entire coast of Lebanon - and in good weather, you can see the island of Cyprus.
