CAVES OF THE HERMIT MOUGHARAT EL-HABIS
1,5 km from the centre of the village towards the heights of Fourzol, you can reach the caves. You will see the traces of tanks or basins dug, of niches, of the kings chamber, and at the top of a staircase, which was perhaps a Phoenician temple devoted to the God Baal. These caves were used in christian and Byzantine times. They are partly natural and partly designed by man. From the nearby pumping station, climb for 20 minutes to a stele in relief, well preserved, carved in the bottom of a niche and representing a rider and another figure. The site is located in a rather distinctive palm tree. From this place you can see the old quarries that have been used to build many monuments in the region. These offer a surprising landscape.
