GRAND HÔTEL PALMYRA
Located at the entrance to Baalbek before Khalil Moutran Square, the Grand Hotel Palmyra was built in 1874 on the location of a Roman theatre. Rooms on the first floor have a breathtaking view of the Temples temples. A large, beautifully decorated dining room allows you to enjoy breakfast. Known before the war, the hotel welcomed all the brand guests who went to Baalbek. Jean Cocteau used to come one month each year. Today, the hotel has an abandoned location, which gives it a strange but charming atmosphere. Ahmad Kassab, who has been working since 1955, will be happy to tell you about the history of the establishment and to show you the room in which General de Gaulle stayed during his passage to Baalbek. The rooms offer a rudimentary comfort and the furniture is time, but they are well kept and clean. An atypical address that you absolutely need to visit even if you don't stay there!
