Kamed El Loz has an archaeological tell (located in the north of the village) dating back to the bronze age. Archaeologists discovered an almost unbroken superposition of ancient Neolithic habitat layers in Persian times (the Fifth Century in the th Century BC). Indeed, it was here that in the second millennium, a fortified regional metropolis governed the southern Bekaa. According to excavations conducted by German archaeologists between the 1963 s and 1981 s and according to correspondence dated th BC, it appears that the kingdom of Kumidi - governed by an Egyptian - imposed its domination on the region at the time of the Egyptian presence in Asia Minor.
Today, you can see the fortifications of the city and part of what was once the entrance and administrative spaces of the palace. During excavations, part of what was believed to be a "treasure", but probably the "royal pavilion", was found, in which ivory objects, alabaster and glass dishes, gold-plated statuettes, terracotta objects, as well as a statuette of a woman sitting, could be found.' effigy of the Queen of Kumidi.
