RUINS OF LADY STANHOPE'S HOUSE
At the end of the village, you will pass a Lebanese army roadblock, then turn left immediately. A narrow path goes down to the bottom of a valley and then to the right to go up a hill and then to the right again. The inhabitants call this area Dahr el Sitt, "the lady's mountain". In the middle of the olive trees, you can see the ruins of the Stanhope house. There are only a few walls left of this house, which had 35 rooms. The site was looted and destroyed during the civil war. Lady Stanhope's tomb is located behind the ruins of her house in the middle of the olive grove.
