SEA CASTLE
The castle is provided with a stone bridge on which tickets are issued. Located on an island on the edge of the port, the sea castle or Qalat al-bahr was quickly built from 1227 to 1228 by the crusaders. This fortress was built using reuse materials from the surrounding ruins. Thus, columns were inserted into the walls of the castle to consolidate their foundations. Only the right tower (tower) and the issuing of the second bear the original building. The fortress was, in fact, partly rebuilt by the Arabs. Inside the castle is a small mosque built in the ruins of the north-east cross tower. If one refers to the engravings of the early 1840 th century, the castle had to be much more imposing, but it was greatly damaged in by the bombing of the Austro-British fleet. The visit is quick and allows, from the top of the castle, to discover a beautiful panorama of the city and Saida Bay.
