SAINT-LOUIS CASTLE
On a promontory in the south, at the end of rue al Moutran, the Saint Louis Castle, also known as the castle of the Earth or the castle of al Mouizz, preserves some ruins. Built under the reign of Louis IX, by the crusaders, on the ancient acropolis overlooking the city, the citadel was destroyed and rebuilt by the Arabs. Some researchers think Louis IX would never have lived this castle during his visit to Saida since he was still in the building. Unfortunately, the Château Saint-Louis is not visiting. You can only distinguish it from the road.
Slightly below, on the presumed location of the Acropolis, the remains of a Roman building litter the soil of vague terrain.
