PORT AND HARA DISTRICT
The old town of Tyre deserves a detour. From the port, which was the subject of extensive renovation in 2014, Venture and its narrow streets are located in the west coast of the peninsula. The old port is colorful with its small boats and fishermen who are trying to repair their nets. It is also possible to take a boat tour to go to two small islands off Tyre. Several coffee terraces are arranged along the harbour. A pleasant break to observe the pensioners of the district and the parts of the maps and take advantage of Tyre's joie de vivre. Here, time sometimes seems to have stopped.
Next to the old port, the Christian quarter, called the Hara, has a magical charm. We walk along the narrow coloured narrow streets. The houses are sometimes a little precarious and glued to each other, but they are lively and often flowery.
It is possible to reach the ruins of the cathedral, with its monolithic columns of Aswan pink granite, along the corniche which begins at the level of Al Fanar Hostel.
