W okresie, w którym byłem, temperatury w nocy 24 do 27°C, w dzień do 38°C w cieniu. Czapka, kapelusz i woda obowiązkowe.

Breathtaking Roman ruins and a MUST for any archaeology enthusiast. The ruins at Al-Bass are so primitive that you feel as though you've travelled back in time. For instance, some of the tombs still have human remains in them. The tranquility of this site only made the exploration all the more intriguing.

The hippodrome at Al-Bass is an entirely different and unique marvel of its own. It is the largest and possibly the best-preserved hippodrome in the word. At the entrance, you can see part of the aqueduct that continues further inland. You cannot walk the full 5 kilometers to the seaside ruins. Entry fee was 200,000 LBP per person.

I highly recommend the ruins at Al Bass.

The most beautiful city in Lebanon

It’s a great place to see the ruins. I wish they added more signs explaining what we are looking at.

Although it's an impressive and incredible historical site, it unfortunately seems to be forgotten and in need of attention and cleaning.
Exploring the ruins as a regular visitor can be a bit challenging, as there are no informative signs to explain the historical significance of the ruins.
The ticket price for locals (adults) was at 100,000 lbp in August 2023.

Amazing & impressive site, especially The Triumphal Arch. Had some difficulty to find the main entrance in order to pay the entrance fee because we entered from the Hippodrome section. The necropolis, constituting the principal entrance of the town in antique times is a must see.
