CAFFÈ PLATTI
A historic café dating back to 1875, it is the kingdom of the tramezzino, a small triangle-shaped sandwich with a rather artistic presentation.
Slightly set back from the historic center, close to the Porta Nuova train station, this café, opened in 1875 by two brothers, maintains a very chic atmosphere with its gilding and large mirrors on the walls. Cesare Pavese and Giulio Einaudi used to meet here to discuss literature over delicious tramezzini. Even today, there's an impressive array of tramezzini, with all kinds of breads, to be enjoyed in this undeniably stylish setting, adorned with Art Nouveau motifs. Before you leave, you can stock up on succulent chocolate.
