CAFFÈ SAN CARLO
With its sparkling stucco and gilded wood decorations, it is one of the most famous historical cafés in the city!
The first Italian café to adopt hydrogen gas illumination in 1832, it was a meeting place for reformers opposed to the House of Savoy. Richly decorated, it impressed many19th-century travelers, with its chandeliers, ceilings, statuary, mirrors... The setting is truly exceptional! Its terrace is not bad either when the sun is shining... A historic place that took advantage of the health crisis to undergo renovation work and celebrate its 200th anniversary in an even more beautiful setting!
