NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE MOUNTAINS
A well-kept museum devoted entirely to the history of mountaineering and the exploration of mountains and snow-covered lands.
Located next to the Monte dei Cappuccini convent, this museum founded by the Italian Alpine Club traces the history of mountaineering and mountain exploration, and the life and traditions of the inhabitants of the Italian Alps up to the beginning of the 20th century. It is dedicated to Luigi di Savoia, Duke of Abruzzo, an explorer duke who was the first to reach the top of K2. Also on display are objects that belonged to the Italian expedition to the North Pole in 1907.
