CHIESA DEL PONTE
Church next to a bridge with many works of art, oil paintings and frescoes.
This little white church was built in the Middle Ages, in the late 13th and early 14th centuries, on the banks of the Dora Riparia, next to a bridge, hence its nickname "Church of the Madonna of the Bridge". It is dedicated to the Virgin of Peace. The church houses numerous works of art, including oil paintings and frescoes. Next door, the diocesan museum has housed a number of works from the cathedral and this church, including the astonishing 12th-century statue of the Virgin and Child.
