ROMANESQUE ANFITEATRO
Small Roman amphitheater rediscovered and restored, suitable for events.
A small Roman amphitheatre built in the 2nd century. It was here that the famous gladiatorial combats took place, as well as the so-called venationes, i.e. shows of combat between men and wild animals, particularly exotic animals from Africa or Asia, and simulated hunting scenes. It had a turbulent history, and was completely buried after major floods. Rediscovered and restored in the 20th century, it is now used for a variety of events. The path leading to it is very pleasant.
