Benedictine monastery in activity exposing a model of the abbey in its small museum.
It is the most important religious institution in the region. Founded in 726, it was entrusted to the Benedictines until 906, when it was occupied by the Saracens. The church, rebuilt in 1712, boasts fine 15th-century frescoes. The chapel of San Eldrado and San Nicola is entirely decorated with 11th-century frescoes. This is still an active Benedictine monastery. A small museum displays a model of the abbey and the activities of the monks who restore manuscripts: presentation of supports, risks of deterioration...
