DUOMO OF PINEROLO
Cathedral in late baroque style with a neo-medieval façade.
Originally dating back to the 11th century, the Cathedral of Pinerolo, dedicated to San Donato, has a late Baroque style, the result of several alterations in the 18th century, which were added to the previous Romanesque building. The bell tower, built in 1425, is unfinished. The inhabitants of Pinerolo affectionately call it ciochè moc, the "amputated bell tower" in patois, because of the absence of its arrow, which is never finished. The neo-Medieval façade was rebuilt during the 19th century, after an earthquake destroyed the previous one.
