The Tanpì brewery-restaurant ("tant pis" in Valle d'Aosta dialect, which is of course ironic) serves a range of Valle d'Aostan and Italian specialties, some revisited in a more modern style. Tables are set in the large adjoining room, with a bar that also serves snacks. The cuisine is sophisticated, with unusual combinations of flavors that are very well executed. The cheese soufflé (local fontina), on a bed of pear with Modena balsamic vinegar, and the tagliatelle with artichoke and sautéed squid were divine.
