GLASS CASTLE
One-piece castle, a perfect example of defensive architecture, with a monumental staircase in Verres.
A monoblock castle in the form of a square tower with walls three metres thick, Verres is a perfect example of defensive architecture. The fortified block, imposing and austere, looks like a gigantic cube built entirely of stone, without corner towers and with large windows on all its facades. The structure was built in 1390 by Yblet de Challant and was extended in 1536 by René de Challant. Note the monumental staircase supported by rampant arches, the arms room with two fireplaces and the elegant geminated windows.
