At the very top of Fort de Bard, in the former cantonments of the high-ranking officers, this hotel is integrated into the Alpine fortress. Access is spectacular, via four panoramic elevators overlooking the Aosta Valley. 9 rooms decorated in a chic minimalist style (36m2), a junior suite and a grand suite (105m2) decorated with original frescoes. Breakfast in the fort's cafeteria before opening to the public at 10am. A tour of the fort is provided for all guests.

Cindy (or Sindy?) on reception welcomed us like we were old friends, the room (family suite) was incredible with a 4 poster bed and Al Fresco paintings on the wall. There is no restaurant but Cindy booked us a table at a local pizzeria and the walk there was stunning through the old town down below with frequent stops to take pictures of the fort.
We woke up to stunning views all around, unfortunately we couldn't linger as we had to get to the airport but I don't think I have ever been so unhappy to check out of a hotel. Wish we could have stayed longer and looked around the Fort.
As other people have said, if you can pack light for your stat here it would be useful, even from the top lift there is still a steep walk to the entrance. If you do have heavy luggage though, they will look after you and send a golf buggy to help you up.
Il fascino di dormire in questo luogo ricco di storia è impagabile. Le stanze ampie e sobriamente arredate occupano la parte nobile del forte, dove era alloggiato il comando militare del forte.
La visita guidata del forte completa il piacere del soggiorno.
Complimenti a Cinzia e al ragazzo che abbiamo incontrato stamattina 23 Marzo al checkout - del quale purtroppo non sappiamo il nome - per la loro professionalità e gentilezza. Torneremo sicuramente e consiglieremo a quante più persone di vivere la nostra stessa esperienza.
