The 7th is the feast of Milan's patron saint, Ambrogio, which also marks the start of the O'Bei O'Bei festival and the season at La Scala.

The 7th is the feast day of Milan's patron saint, Ambrogio, bishop of the city between 374 and 397. Shops and offices are closed, while the streets and squares of the Sant'Ambrogio district are invaded by the stalls of the O'Bei O'Bei festival. It's also the start of the opera season at Teatro alla Scala. Tickets for this first show are expensive, but it is broadcast free of charge on giant screens in several of the city's theaters.
