Built in 1866, its 25,000 m² are home to the sculpted tombs of numerous families of the Milanese bourgeoisie, as well as Italian celebrities and artists such as the writer Alessandro Manzoni, of all faiths. The result is an impressive collection of chapels, crypts, statues and works by renowned artists such as Giacomo Manzù and Francesco Messina.
