PALAZZO MARINO
One of the most interesting mansions in Milan, built in 1523.
This fine example of Mannerist architecture stands directly opposite the La Scala theater. Built in 1523 by a family of Genoese bankers, it is one of Milan's most interesting mansions and a 15th-century masterpiece. Its richly decorated inner courtyard is remarkable. Today, the Palazzo Marino is the seat of Milan's City Hall, so it is not open to visitors (guided tours are occasionally organized), but you can admire the facade sitting on the benches surrounding the statue of Leonardo da Vinci.
