PARCO SEMPIONE
The park is located on the main line of the Dome, built on the old parade ground in 1890.
The park owes its name to the fact that it is located on the Dome guideline at the foot of the Simplon in the Alps. It was built on the former parade ground in 1890 by the architect Alemagna. The idea was that of a vast English-style park, with streams, paths and small heights. The park is home to the Napoleonic Arena and the Arco della Pace, the municipal aquarium, a theatre, the Triennale (exhibition pavilion which became the Design Museum at the end of 2007), the Torre Branca, a fountain decorated by de Chirico and a municipal library.
