PIAZZA DEL DUOMO
Architectural complex formed by the Cathedral, the Palazzo Reale and the Arengario Palace.
The magnificent architectural complex of Piazza del Duomo is formed by the Cathedral, Palazzo Reale and Palazzo Arengario on the right and the Vittorio Emanuele II Gallery on the left. The equestrian statue (1896) of the first king of the unified Italy is in the middle of the piazza. After having been the seat of the various governments of the city, the Palazzo Reale is now the main exhibition centre of Milan. The Arengario, a fine example of rationalist architecture, houses the Museo del Novecento.
