The Pirelli HangarBicocca Foundation promotes and supports contemporary art. Founded in 2004, its aim is to make art accessible to all, free of charge, in a 15,000 m² museum space that once housed a locomotive production plant. Today, exhibitions by international contemporary artists are held here throughout the year (the program is on the website). A must-see is Anselm Kiefer's impressive permanent installation I sette palazzi celesti at the end of the tour.
