When to go Milan ?
Spring and autumn are the best times to explore the city. Milan is not a highly touristy destination, so museum queues are reasonable, but don't forget to book in advance. Beware, however, of the heat of summer, the closures of August and the first week of January, and the periods of fashion week and major trade fairs when accommodation prices soar.
Milan's climate is humid subtropical, with hot and humid summers (15/29°C), cold and sometimes snowy winters (-1/+6°C) and potential rainfall throughout the year. Fog (nebbia) can cover the city, especially in the south, in winter. The Alpine barrier ensures the mildness of spring. With little ventilation, Milan keeps particularly hot in summer. The high tourist season is in September and October, the low season in January, February, March and November and December.
