Have you ever slept in a castle? If you can't stay there, the "villa" is well worth a visit. The brainchild of Cristoforo Crespi, who hoped to emulate the palaces of Baghdad, the neo-Moorish Villa Crespi was built in 1879. A member of the Relais & Châteaux group, Villa Crespi boasts superb grounds that slope gently down to the lake. Just 600 m from the center of Orta, the establishment combines enchanting orientalism with modern comforts. The gourmet restaurant is run by chef Antonino Cannavacciuolo.

Il personale è di una gentilezza e professionalità uniche, i piatti serviti (abbiamo scelto il menu “itinerario”) erano delle vere e proprie opere d’arte, il percorso vini abbinati al menù era di altissima qualità.
Complimenti al sommelier per la sua professionalità e grande bravura nel illustrare tutti i vini che ci ha proposto (e anche al digestivo nel dopo cena); complimenti ai camerieri per la grandissima attenzione che hanno e per la loro grande preparazione; complimenti alla cucina per averci fatto godere di piatti che erano talmente belli che quasi dispiaceva mangiarli.
Grazie infine allo Chef Cannavacciuolo che ci ha concesso una foto ricordo con lui.
