LEGRO
The hamlet of Legro offers a real artistic path with its colorful murals.
About one kilometer from the center of Orta San Giulio, where the town's train station is located, the hamlet of Legro has become famous for the colorful murals(muri dipinti) that decorate the houses and form a real artistic path in this place that is called il paese dipinto (the painted country). This local tradition has allowed several painters to illustrate scenes of life, scenes from films or even stories from the books of the children's writer Gianni Rodari, since 1998.
