BROLETTO E TORRE DEL COMUNE
Administrative building of the communal period, erected in 1215 in Como.
To the left of the cathedral, the Broletto, an administrative building from the municipal period, dates back to the 13th century. Erected in 1215, it was remodelled in 1477, when the Duomo was enlarged. It was built in the Roman-Gothic style while the Renaissance elements of the façade date back to the 15th century. The ground floor arcades and the tri-lobed windows stand out on a façade with beautiful bands of polychrome marble. The building is flanked to its left by the communal tower.
