QUARTIERE RAZIONALISTA
Area testifying to the architectural and urban renewal that the city experienced between the two wars.
The area known as the "Rationalist Quarter" in the north-west of the city bears witness to the major architectural and urban renewal that the city underwent between the two world wars. The rationalist architecture advocated by the Fascist regime is characterized by imposing volumes and clean geometric lines, with ornamentation reduced to the essential. Most of these buildings were dedicated to sporting, educational or leisure activities. Architect Giuseppe Terragni (1904-1943) designed many of these innovative buildings for their time.
