Museum with a large period press, formerly used for the manufacture of silk.
In 1818, Pietro Monti, a silk twister, settled in Abbadia - less than ten kilometers from Lecco. He transformed the old wool mill into a silk mill. Today, the museum is housed in two buildings: the former silk mill/reeling mill and the other building, which was used for spinning and ancillary activities. If you have time, the Abbadia museum is well worth a visit to admire the large period wine press.
