HOTEL OLIVEDO
The Olivedo hotel in the centre of Varenna, on the main square in front of the lake, is the legacy of four generations of hotels in the same family; a place rich in history and know-how, fascinating and great personality with its Liberty style: a unique architecture with its Belle epoque decoration which gives it a typically French stamp. Courtesy and kindness are a rule. The rooms are spread over three floors and are served by a very nice staircase. All furniture, objects and frames are authentic; there is a special atmosphere, which, together with the lake, inspires rest and serenity. Everything is perfectly cleaned and regularly renovated to the image of the bathrooms offering comfort and services of very good level. Most of the rooms have a balcony, or two for some, offering spectacular views of the lake, especially at sunset. Of course the restaurant and bar respect the hotel's architecture and decoration. Exquisite regional cuisine and coffee terrace are ideal for enjoying the life of the neighborhood.

La mattina me ne sono lamentato (di notte non c'è nessuno al centralino che risponde né numeri di emergenza), chiaramente si sono scusati (ma il proprietario forse perché >60 diceva di non sentire nulla..), ma mi hanno anche detto che ho il sonno leggero e forse l'acufene. Non dico che mi sarei aspettato di non pagare la stanza, ma uno sconto o qualche altro pensiero sì. Nonostante la gentilezza direi quindi non proprio una gestione professionale del cliente.
Beautiful hotel with comfortable bed and delicious breakfast! The host and hotel crews were also very friendly and accommodating!
Strongly recommended stay for anyone who wishes to put up a few nights here!
