VILLA ROMANA
Villa with a view of the lake, with a small museum exhibiting the remains from the excavations.
Dating from the 2nd-4th centuries AD, it is a very fine example of the great villas of the late Roman period. Ideally situated, it offers a magnificent view of the lake. Of course, one has to use one's imagination to see the villa as it once was, but its remains are a thousand times worth a visit. One can admire its superb mosaic paving with pagan scenes. But one is especially struck by the surprising variety of their colours. A small museum exhibits the remains from the excavations.
