Museum located on a hill to honor the memory of King Victor Emmanuel II.
The 64 m high Torre di San Martino was built between 1880 and 1893 to honour the memory of King Vittorio Emanuele II and those who fought for Italian independence and unity between 1848 and 1870. Erected on a hill, it can be seen from afar. It is twinned with the Museum of the Risorgimento in Solferino, which recalls the events of the Battle of San Martino on 24 June 1859, a crucial stage in the wars that led to the unity of Italy.
