Much more than a youth hostel, here is a colourful and warm place to meet people or just to sip a drink.

Former grain warehouses converted into a youth hostel 65 years ago. Design decor and cosy interiors for a "hostel" renovated in 2013, which has established itself as one of the most pleasant and trendy in Veneto. To sleep in one of its pretty dormitories or double rooms, you'll need a youth hostel card (which you can buy on site). Happy hour from 6.30pm to 8.30pm in the bar area. Shared breakfast on rustic tables. Book well in advance, as the Generator attracts backpackers from all over the world.

DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOSTEL!!!

Twice a week they have Ibiza-style discos until 01:30 that make your bed vibrate and stops you from sleeping at all.

Staff are completely useless as well.

One of the calmest neighbourhoods I've ever been in, ruined by this disco. No wonder the locals hate tourists!

Hopefully I will remember to never give one penny of my money to this company ever again, as they are an absolute disgrace to hostels everywhere

I paid for one thing; to sleep in a bed, and they denied me this one thing. Then they refused to ask the DJ to turn the music down, and they refused to give me a full refund. The staff were laughing at me. What a disgraceful situation. DO NOT STAY HERE if you want a good night's sleep.

Everywhere in the world hostels have little signs saying "silence after 10 PM," but here they pay a DJ to keep everyone awake until 01:30. And they charge you €43 for the night!

Shocking even more because I've enjoyed my visit to Venice a lot, so calm and peaceful. Whoever thought that this disco is a good idea needs to think about finding a different job, because they have zero expertise in how a good hostel works

They said they would turn the volume down at midnight but, instead, they turned up both the volume and the bass

Truly shocking even more because they are well aware of the issue, having received multiple bad reviews which mention the disco noise until 01:30, and apologise in the superficial way that they do in every bad review, but fail to change. They only care about money and have no interest in providing the one thing that really matters in a hostel; A BED IN WHICH TO GET A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP

Then, the following morning, after 4 hours sleep, I go down to check out, and I tell the bar staff about my bad experience, and I ask if there is any chance of a free coffee. Basic customer service. The response? I get laughed at AGAIN and told no, this time by the French bartender. Awful hostel, awful staff. I will never ever stay in a Generator hostel again, and, of course, I will not pay a cent to them for a coffee or croissant. TERRIBLE HOSTEL

Stylistic brick house with pleasant atmosphere. There is a large, however cosy cafe with a wild-scaled kind of food, coffee or any other snack. Prices of those stuff are way more likeable than in the city center.

Living in the shared room is much more comfortable than I expected, especially thanks to the privacy you get there, in that beds are occupied by walls from all the sides except the one using for the entrance. In my opinion there should be more opportunities to get into toilette, sometimes it could be challenging for you.

Don’t forget to prepare 20€ for traffic transport from the city center into Guidecca. In spite of this fact it’s even more economic than buying accomodation in the city center. I will recommend you to bring a padlock, if you are going to stay over more than one night. I stayed for only one, so I hadn’t take it.

Worst hostel bathroom ive ever seen. Been there 4 days and im sure they never cleaned them.2 showers/4 were out of service (womens) The location and the lobby are the only good point to me. 5 euro to rent a towel.. no shelves or anything in the room except a locker under the bed, pretty basic. The room smelled like cheese. Ive been in a lot of hostel and this one was very disapointing... pay a bit more and get a real hotel or bnb .. no kitchen and you cant bring your own food/drinks by the way

Excelente servicio en el bar y en la recepción, mención especial para Alberto, con quien hice el check in. Muy atento, brindando información sobre el transporte y dando recomendaciones, un genio. El hostal cumple lo que promete.
