Ca' Macana is one of the world's most famous mask workshops. Its creators began to take an interest in this craft in 1984, shortly after the Carnival was relaunched. They were a group of friends studying architecture at the University of Venice. They set out (partly out of necessity, but also out of passion) to create masks and sell them in the squares and alleyways. The store and workshop tell us just how far they've come since then, including their breakthrough on the silver screen with the film Eyes Wide Shut.
