The temple of the mythical bistecca alla Fiorentina, located in the heart of the historic district, very close to the cathedral. To the delight of the carnivorous, this former antique shop, opened in 1875 (now transferred to Piazza Massimo D'Azeglio), has become a dashing steak house with a chic brocante decor. Grilled over an open fire, seasoned with coarse salt and herbs, carved before your eyes, juicy and exceptionally tender, the local Chianina prime rib continues to be a Florence staple.
