MUSEO STIBBERT
Museum of the English collector Frederick Stibbert, which gathers incredible collections of weapons and armors, within a pretty park with trees.
Born in Florence but from an English family, Frederick Stibbert (1838-1906), a shrewd financier, played a decisive role in the European antiquities market. He developed exceptional collections, especially of the history and fashion of clothing of different peoples, between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries. The most impressive part of this house-museum is the collection of weapons and armor from Europe, the Middle East and Japan. The park, laid out according to Stibbert's wishes, makes for a delightful walk outside this rich museum.
