GUCCI GARDEN
Museum housed in the Palazzo della Mercanzia to admire the creations of the haute-couture house Gucci.
To celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Italian (and especially Florentine!) brand Gucci, a museum that honors it was inaugurated in 2011, housed in the Palazzo della Mercanzia. The museum is spread over two levels and displays various pieces of the collection: clothes, bags, jewelry, but also sports equipment and household utensils. It also reveals the close ties with the seventh art, not only the responsibility of dressing the stars at major festivals such as Cannes, but also the financial support for the restoration of old films. For a journey into the world of luxury subtly staged, with projections of old fashion shows. A true incursion into the history of Gucci, from its creation in 1921 to the present day. And of course, for fans of the double GG!
Proof that the Tuscan capital remains a reference in terms of fashion: in 2018, the Gucci Garden was inaugurated with great pomp. All the Florentine brass was there to discover this new concept. The space, conceived by Gucci's creative director Alessandro Michele, now includes a boutique with unique items (clothing, accessories, books and ultra-limited edition items for the home, available only in Florence), as well as a restaurant run by three-star chef Massimo Bottura. A true star in Italy, he was voted best chef in the world for his osteria in Modena. It's a success, you should expect to wait at least six months for a table.
