Imposing 15th century palace and symbol of the wealth of Florence, the most beautiful of the Florentine Renaissance

A symbol of Florence's wealth, this imposing 15th century palace was commissioned by the banker Filippo Strozzi. It is undoubtedly the most beautiful palace of the Florentine Renaissance. Strozzi wanted to provoke Laurent de Médicis in the field of architectural mastery and rigour without exacerbating his sense of power. The palate is therefore not exuberant with apparent richness. It is not full of sculptures by great names, but its balance and dimensions are admirable. Beautiful temporary exhibitions enliven the palace.

Férus d’histoire et de la Renaissance, n’hésitez plus. Pensez toutefois à réserver à l’avance, à l’image des Offices, il y aura du monde. Ceci dit, un parcours entremêlé entre les différents étages vous fera imaginer les scénari se jouant à cette époque.

Excellente exposition sur Ai Weiwei en ce moment (jusqu'en janvier). A voir absolument si vous vous intéressez au monde actuel. Le Palais est très beau, décoré des oeuvres de l'artiste qui recouvre totalement certains de ses murs. Son architecture extérieure vaut également le coup d'oeil. C'est de toute façon un des immanquables de Florence au niveau architectural. Wifi gratuit dans le patio sans avoir besoin de recourir à un numéro de téléphone italien.
