Before starting your ascent towards the piazzale Michelangelo and San Miniato al Monte, a piece of advice, stop without hesitation at this (very) small ice cream shop. The shop doesn't look like much but the quality is there. Only fifteen flavours, all homemade, and a memorable creaminess! The one mixing chocolate and hazelnuts is particularly recommended, as well as the peach, divine. In addition, the prices are really reasonable compared to the historic centre, the portions are generous, and the service is very pleasant.
